Philips – Meditation trainer

The device aims to enhance well-being by providing a tool to deal with stress. By practicing meditation, the user builds up an immune response to stressful situations. By reading the EEG signals from the pre-frontal cortex (responsible for happiness and depression) and using entrainment techniques by light and sound stimulation, the device optimizes the entrainment sequence based on the wearer’s real-time response to the stimulation.

Careful consideration has been given to simplicity of use, material and technology selection. Primary material is Hytrel, due to its hypoallergenic, ease of cleaning and warm touch properties.

The interaction is made through a touch-sensitive fabric which glows in patterns to indicate the mode and timer. Induction charging allows for a product without openings and the charging base doubles as a carrying case.
